The Child Find Program provides developmental surveillance and monitoring of infants and toddlers who meet high risk criteria for developmental delays such as:
- A gestation less than 33 weeks
- Birth weight less than 1800 grams
- Mothers 16 years and younger
- Indicated report of child abuse or neglect
- Prenatal exposure to drugs or alcohol
- Serious illness or traumatic injury
- Lack of prenatal care
- Behind on recommended well-child care and/or immunizations
- Elevated blood lead levels
- Parental developmental delay or mental illness
- Other high-risk criteria indicating potential for developmental delay
The Child Find Program provides the following services:
- Parenting support for the child’s care
- Information about community services available
- Helping the parent/guardian to contact their doctor to follow the child’s growth and development more closely
