The Child Find Program provides developmental surveillance and monitoring of infants and toddlers who meet high risk criteria for developmental delays such as:

  • A gestation less than 33 weeks
  • Birth weight less than 1800 grams
  • Mothers 16 years and younger
  • Indicated report of child abuse or neglect
  • Prenatal exposure to drugs or alcohol
  • Serious illness or traumatic injury
  • Lack of prenatal care
  • Behind on recommended well-child care and/or immunizations
  • Elevated blood lead levels
  • Parental developmental delay or mental illness
  • Other high-risk criteria indicating potential for developmental delay

The Child Find Program provides the following services:

  • Parenting support for the child’s care
  • Information about community services available
  • Helping the parent/guardian to contact their doctor to follow the child’s growth and development more closely
