Administrator’s Message Autumn 2024
As we embrace the autumn season in Saratoga County, our community is bustling with activities like apple picking, corn mazes, hayrides, and breathtaking foliage tours, offering enjoyment for all ages. This past summer was another tremendous success, highlighted by the Belmont at Saratoga Festival and another strong track season with NYRA. SPAC had a record-breaking number of performances as well, capped by the Farm-Aid concert in September. Additionally, the Saratoga National Battlefield sites are experiencing increased visitation as we gear up to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the Turning Point of the Revolution.

A key focus of our Board of Supervisors is attracting new businesses to our County by setting the conditions for success, including the lowest county tax rates in the State and a growing workforce base. We are very glad to welcome Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, a large international biotechnology company that purchased the former Quad Graphics facility in Saratoga Springs. This and many other private sector investments have resulted in Saratoga County currently having the lowest unemployment rate across all of New York.

We continue to take pride in being recognized as one of the Healthiest Counties in the country in the latest US News & World Report rankings, where we are currently rated in the top 2% out of over 3,000 counties nationally. These rankings are based on numerous factors, including education, housing, economic activity, and equity, and they are underpinned by our investments and commitment to public safety through strong law enforcement.
