Welcome to the Office of the Saratoga County Clerk. Each year, our office records and files over 85,000 documents, including mortgages, deeds, power of attorney, discharge of mortgages and judgments. We have digitized over 20 million documents, many of which are accessible online. You will also find information on forms, fees, links, and other useful tools on this website. The Saratoga County Clerk’s Office is now open for walk-in service from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (excluding major holidays), or call us at (518) 885-2213. The following services are available during the times indicated below:
- Land Recordings and Court Filings: 9:00 am – 4:15 pm
- Passport Services: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Researching Purposes: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Craig A. Hayner has served as Saratoga County Clerk since 2014, having been elected in 2013.
As County Clerk, Hayner has led the effort to digitize more than 20 million records to provide greater online access to public records, increase efficiency of office procedures and preserve thousands of historical documents. Efforts to improve customer service at the Saratoga County DMV offices include implementing an online appointment system in Clifton Park. His focus on serving veterans includes expanding the Saratoga County Veteran’s F.A.V.O.R. program. During Hayner’s tenure, the County Clerk’s Organization added a county-wide Records Management Division and began oversight of the County Historian’s Office. Prior to being elected as the Saratoga County Clerk, Hayner served on the Halfmoon Town Council from 2007-2013, where he chaired the Open Space, Trails, and Ethics Committees and was the liaison to the Town Recreation and Parks Departments. His efforts helped deliver legislative ethics reform and provide additional recreational opportunities for Halfmoon residents. In addition to his 15 years of corporate business experience with the HJ Heinz and Campbell Soup companies, Hayner and his wife, Carolyn, have owned and operated Hayner’s Ice Cream and Country Store in Halfmoon for over 25 years. Hayner is currently serving as president of the New York State Association of County Clerks, advocating for good government solutions statewide. |
